Nightstand Makeover with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

After refinishing the shabby chic dresser, I thought, there's got to be an easier way! So I turned to google, and learned about Annie Sloan chalk paint. This paint is only sold at specialty stores (I got mine from Wonderfaux Studio in Houston, which btw I was like a kid in a candy store there!)

All I can say is WOW!! No sanding or priming needed! And distressing was so much easier compared to using latex paints.

So without further ado, here's the $8 garage sale nightstand before:

and after:

The books on the after picture were another garage sale find: a series called "The Great Ideas Program" published in 1961, which I thought was pretty interesting :)

  4. I just got similar nightstands but Im thinking the top is made of particle board and am wondering if I can paint over it or if I need to replace the top.
